Sydney Architecture Festival

Sydney Architecture Festival is coming upon us quickly. Interestingly it is on at the exact same time as Australian Web Week -- October 2nd to 9th. Its going to a full, but thoroughly interesting and enjoyable week.

I'm particularly look forward to some of the exhibitions they are going to be running, in at Customs House at Circular Quay.

Testing Reality - The Architect and the Model is an exhibition centred around the Marcus Seidler House (designed by famous Australian architect Harry Seidler). A series of architectural models of the house have been commissioned specifically for the exhibition. As a whole, the exhibition is going to be examining the role and place of architectural models in the modern architecture practice.

Ulterior Motives is an exhibition of work from the UTS  Master of Architecture program. The works are examining the potential of the Ultimo precinct and how it could be transformed into a vibrant and exciting area.

Max Dupain @ Circular Quay sounds like it could be a very interesting exhibition. There isn't too much information about this particular exhibition, but it sounds as though it will be targeted at younger festival goers. It sounds like a small exhibit of Dupain's photographs - with the aim of encouraging others to embark on their own mission to photograph the area.

There's bound to be lots going on throughout the whole week, so get out there and see some of it.
