This is a great little clip from a longer piece from back in the 70's that looks into they way the design of public spaces affects the way that people use them. It is only a small piece (about 10 minutes) of the whole, but there are some great snippets of insight contained in there.

What is especially interesting is the similarities in relevance to the design of websites and web applications. In this age of social networking websites are now meeting places, and some ways taking the place of the plazas and malls of the physical world. Many of the insights in this clip are hugely relevant to the design of websites.
